Assisted Living that Feels Personal
The Veranda at Lake Martin is a close-knit assisted living community where residents are truly known by the people caring for them each day. Through familiar routines, favorite meals, and meaningful relationships, we create a warm, comfortable environment that helps residents feel respected, supported, and at home.
At The Veranda at Lake Martin, assisted living is about helping residents remain comfortable, confident, and as independent as possible. Our caregivers assist with medications, bathing, dressing, mobility, and other daily needs while respecting each resident’s routines and preferences. Because our community is smaller and relationship-focused, caregivers have time to truly know each resident and provide support that feels personal, attentive, and respectful.

The caregivers at The Veranda are the heart of our community. We hire people who are compassionate, dependable, and committed to treating residents with kindness and respect. Many team members have been with us for years, creating the consistency families value. Every employee completes thorough onboarding and ongoing training, including CPR and senior care education, helping ensure attentive, knowledgeable care from people who truly know our residents.

At The Veranda, we believe great senior care starts with compassionate, well-trained people. Every team member completes extensive, ongoing education from Care Academy and trusted sources focused on resident safety, communication, daily care, and the changing needs that come with aging. Because many staff members stay long-term, residents benefit from familiar faces who truly know their routines and needs.

ASSISTED LIVING WITH A HEART
Our community offers a calm, comfortable setting where residents receive support when needed, while maintaining independence. Familiar routines, meaningful activities, and personal relationships help daily life feel easy and enjoyable.

Residents gather throughout the day for meals, activities, conversation, and relaxation in welcoming common areas. Every space is designed to feel familiar, comfortable, and easy to enjoy.
Fresh air is part of daily life at The Veranda. Whether relaxing on the porch, tending the garden, visiting with family outdoors, or enjoying a caregiver-assisted walk, residents have regular opportunities to connect with nature.

The Veranda at Lake Martin is a great fit for seniors who value independence but would benefit from support with daily routines such as medications, bathing, dressing, meals, or mobility. Many residents enjoy the comfort, companionship, and peace of mind that come with living in a warm, close-knit community rather than living alone.
Our community is especially well suited for those who prefer a quieter, more personal environment over a large, busy facility. Residents often appreciate the familiar routines, slower pace, and strong relationships built with caregivers and fellow residents. Because our team also has experience supporting residents with cognitive decline, families can feel confident knowing additional support is available if needs change over time.
Many families want excellent assisted living without moving their loved one far from home. The Veranda allows older adults to remain close to family, lifelong friends, familiar doctors, and the Alexander City, Dadeville and Lake Martin community they've known for years. Families appreciate having peace of mind while still being able to visit often and stay actively involved in their loved one's life.
We'd love to show you these details and more during an in-person visit.
Learn More About Life at The Veranda
We aim to keep pricing simple to understand. You start with a base monthly rate tied to the room you select, which covers home-cooked meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, and utilities. From there, added support like medication management or help with daily routines is priced based on your loved one's care needs. Because that support is personal to each resident, the full cost of care is confirmed through a care assessment, which most families complete when they're ready to visit for a tour.

Daily life at The Veranda is centered around connection, comfort, and enjoying familiar routines. Residents often participate in bingo, card games, devotional gatherings, music, crafts, gardening, exercise classes, and holiday celebrations. Many also enjoy relaxing on the porch, sharing meals together, and spending time visiting with friends, family, and caregivers throughout the day.
Our caregivers receive extensive onboarding, ongoing education, and hands-on support from experienced leadership. Training includes senior care best practices, safety procedures, medication assistance, CPR, and understanding the changing needs that often come with aging.
We also work hard to support and appreciate our team, because we've found that caregivers who feel valued are more likely to stay for the long term. That consistency allows residents to build familiar, trusting relationships with the people caring for them each day.
Getting to know residents personally is one of the things that makes our community special. We learn about each resident’s routines, preferences, personality, favorite meals, hobbies, and the small details that help daily life feel comfortable and familiar. Those relationships allow us to provide care that feels more natural, personal, and tailored to each individual.
Absolutely. Families are encouraged to remain closely involved in their loved one's life at The Veranda. There are no set visiting hours—we simply ask guests to sign in and out when they arrive and depart. You're welcome to stop by for a visit, relax together on the porch, or attend one of our activities or special events.
If you'd like to join your loved one for a meal, just let us know that morning so we can prepare a place for you (a small meal fee applies). We simply encourage families to keep their loved one's daily routine in mind when planning visits, helping ensure each visit is enjoyable and comfortable for everyone.
